Architecture + Education

Architecture + Education is an educational program provided by the Buffalo Architecture Foundation. The program teaches NYS core curriculum subjects, such as Math, Science, History, Language Arts, Technology and Art through the lens of architecture. Volunteer architects and classroom teachers work together to create a series of lessons /activities that teach a required subject area. Almost all of the activities are hands-on and encourage visual and practical learning.

Because architecture is multi-disciplinary, and incorporates many different topics, the program can be customized to any grade level, and most subject areas. Programs can also be tailored to work within any classroom schedule. For example, the program is flexible enough to accommodate classrooms that want one lesson, or 10 lessons & or anywhere in between. However, we recommend at least 8 lessons for students to grasp the concepts and create physical models and projects.

Pricing varies per residency. Please call the APL office for details, (716) 881-0917.
