Curator of Museum Learning and Community Engagement, Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State College
Kathy Gaye Shiroki has nineteen years’ experience working in modern and contemporary art museums. In her current position she has been a frequent lecturer in the art education department at Buffalo State. Previously she was the art teacher at Oracle Charter School working with middle and high school students integrating the arts across the curriculum. Prior, she served 11 years as the Assistant Curator of Education where she administered the NYSCA funded Empire State Partnership (ESP) grant at Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts.
In previous education roles, she has worked for the Salt Lake City Art Center, the Nicolaysen Art Museum, University of Wyoming, and Arts Councils of Washington and Montana. She has diverse experience in administration, supervision, management, program development, community outreach, grant writing, budgets, and teaching.
