Executive Director, Give For Greatness
Kathleen Gaffney, Executive Director of a young organization, Give For Greatness, a new force in philanthropy for arts and cultural organizations in Western New York. Ms. Gaffney has won numerous awards and national distinction in the field of arts and education and creativity. Her background includes acting, playwriting, television writing and directing for the stage. She began her career as an actor with Broadway National Tours.
Kathleen was the Artistic Director the CEO of Studio Arena during its last turbulent years. She co-authored The Fourth Wise Man, with Tom Fontana, which premiered at Studio Arena to a half million dollar in single ticket sales and brilliant reviews.
In 1992, she co-founded Artsgenesis, Inc. an award winning non-profit arts-in-education organization where she was President and Artistic Director. She won the first ever John Stanford Hero – In – Education Award from the US Department of Education. Artsgenesis grew from an idea of arts integrated learning to a multi-million dollar organization serving students, parents, teachers and the public. Kathleen received her BA in theatre from Buffalo State College. At Wayne State University she received an MFA which honored her with the Achievement – In -Theatre Award in 2004. In 1999 her work with Artsgenesis was included in Dr. Howard Gardner’s book Multiple Intelligences: The Theory in Practice. She received her Masters of Science Degree from the International Center For Studies In Creativity in 2012.
