Director of Interpretive Programs, Explore & More Children’s Museum

“The arts open up a creative world that anyone can explore regardless of age, gender, ethnicity and language. It is an expressive avenue free from the critique of right or wrong.”

Amelia Blake is the Manager of Interpretive Programs at Explore & More Children’s Museum, and has worked there since May of 2015.  She received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Art History and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology. She previously was the Director of Education at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, and interned at both the Albright Knox Art Gallery and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Amelia’s work at Explore & More is focused on implementing early childhood curriculum weekly for the Museum, developing interpretive programs inspired by current and planned Museum exhibits that align with NYS and Common Core Curriculum,  and organizing and facilitating large scale programming opportunities at the waterfront and at county libraries.  Amelia is also very involved with plans for the museum’s future as it’s new facility is being built at Canalside in downtown Buffalo.
